Painted Fall Pillows

Want to know a secret? I love taking a ready made item and adding just a few personal touches to it to make it the perfect accent for my home. Today I am going  to share with you how to quickly update your pillows for Fall! Fall pillows on my porch bench are just the right amount of color and seasonal decor for us. I sit outside and can watch my girls hang out with friends or chat with a neighbor. So let me show you how I took a few ready made pillows and did a little diy to them to make them the perfect fall pillows.

I just adore Fall colors.  Orange, deep browns, a little aqua thrown in, but my favorite part has to be adding in a little metallic flare!

fall zebra pillow

Take this awesome zebra pillow that I picked up from Steinmart.  I loved the pattern and piping, but this pillow was going to be for my front porch and needed a little something more forgiving in the dirt department and a little bit more warm in color.  I just knew that I could add a little paint to the white sections and it would be perfect for my porch.

Since I wanted something with a little shimmer, I used Dazzling Metallics paint in Champagne Gold.  Don’t you just love the color.  Since I knew I wouldn’t be washing these pillows, I could just paint it right on.

Don’t you love the difference?  A little warmth and a little shimmer to an ordinary pillow.  All you have to do is paint on the white section.  One coat and you are done!
