Organized, Committed and Fully Present

Yes… I know that it is already January 5th and I am just now getting ready to get organized… you did read that right.  I am not organized yet, but I have a plan and a little fire in me and that is pretty much all this girl needs to get the year off to a great start.

2017 Word of the Year

2017 Word of the Year: Present

This is the first time I’ve jumped on the bandwagon of choosing a word of the year, but this word has come across my mind and prayers too many times to count lately.  I want to be PRESENT. I want my kids to feel like when I’m with them, I’m listening, I care about what they care about and that they are the most important people to me in the world. I want my husband to have less of me on the computer as he falls asleep each and every night.  I want my friends to not feel forgotten or left behind. I want my extended family to know that they are important and cared for. I don’t want them to feel like I am too busy to talk to them. Most important of all, I want to be in a position to be able to listen to the Holy Spirit and know that God has placed me exactly where I am each and every second. I feel like all my relationships need me to be fully committed, connected and present.

Here is the deal about making a commitment like this, I’m going to need all of the help I can get. First, I am going to have to pray everyday to be present and aware. I’m also going to have to set some boundaries with my schedule and our family’s activities to make this happen.  I also have to get organized. I’m a firm believer that there are no coincidences in this life and I saw a post from a blogging friend of mine that she had written an ebook… it was about organization.  My first reaction was you go girl… I’m so proud of you!   My second was, I need to get that book.  The title had me at hello…
