Hey y’all… happy Friday! Another week has flown by and we have just been crafting away. I have been busy getting my porch all gussied up and I finally have some beautiful Fall flowers to liven things up a bit. I was just thrilled to get something planted in my forged cauldron planters that I made a few weeks ago. You guys loved the crazy easy Halloween Hurricanes, so I have a feeling you will like this easy project, as well.
Aren’t they just perfect for Halloween? They couldn’t be any easier to make! I picked up two black plastic cauldrons in a medium and large size.
Home Depot has lots of textured spray paints, but I decided to go with the Forged Hammered Universal Spray Paint in Pewter by Rustoleum. They have a hammered spray paint in brown that would be gorgeous for Fall planters, but I am all about Halloween right now.
Just a few light coats of the paint and it took the inexpensive cauldrons from cheesy to very upscale. Oh my goodness and love them and I love spray paint… so much! It can take something ordinary and make it so much more. Let’s face it, planters are too expensive to be themed for the holidays, but not when you do a project like this.
Don’t you love this cute orange owl? I picked him up at Ross. He was broken so I got him for a steal. The only thing that was wrong with him was that he had no bottom, but now I can put a battery operated candle in it and he will glow! I would consider that a win/win for Ross and myself.
I can’t wait until I finish the rest of the porch… I have so many plans… just to find the time! What do you have going on this weekend? I will be making a pretty Halloween porch to share with you next week. Have a wonderful weekend!
