Where Were You?

I believe that all of us who were old enough to realize how our lives changed forever in an instant, will never forget where they were, what they were doing, and what they were feeling at that moment….
For me {Bonnie}, I was dropping off my daughter at preschool, {I was pregnant with my son but did not know it yet} and then heard it on the radio…I had a hard time even pulling out of the church parking lot. Somehow, I just knew it was not an accident and that it was something far greater…
My cell phone started ringing constantly, as my husband traveled weekly to NYC and everyone wanted to know if he was there. No…he was not, although he was supposed to be…the meeting had been cancelled the week before…

For Trish, she had just gotten engaged three days before…her future husband was out of town…

She was at work when a co-worker called the office and they turned on the television… right before the second plane hit…
They all prayed together and remained glued to the television for the rest of the day…

Both of us were amazed at the unbelievable courage of the responders in such a horrific situation, how strong our leaders were in keeping the entire shocked nation both calm and informed, and how such an event reached out to everyone and flooded the churches throughout the entire United States…

Everyone felt the impact of those events. Even living in the deep south, there were families here touched…lives lost.
Never will we forget…
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV
