Uncommon Events: Getting Your Home Ready to Party!

I really really really love to decorate for Halloween!  I know my neighbors think I’m crazy this time of year because I am always in the yard spray painting something for a Halloween party that is over six weeks away!  It also doesn’t help that I  sport black fingernails from the paint  and my children and I have glitter attached to our scalps from now until January.
But it is all for the love of Halloween!
This is one of the many projects I have been working on this week.  My Halloween Mantel! I love the vintage orange and fun mix of prints!   There is nothing more festive than your mantel being all dressed up to get you in the holiday spirit.  My kids faces light up every time they come into the family room.  That alone makes all of the black fingernails and glittery heads worth it!
This is a photo of what my bookshelves look like when I have finished my decorating!

You know what else rocks about having your house or even just your mantel ready early for Halloween?  It is totally ready for a party!  If you are planning a fun get-together anytime before November 1st… all you have to do is set the table, cook the food, and you are good to go!  You will look like a party-pro without the last minute headache or expense of flower arrangements or cheesy decorations from the party store!

Here is a little something else I have been working on…
cake stands
More details on these babies soon!

  2. LOVE IT! I used to decorate for autumn...but now my house is now a multipurpose room for our family...one big one with lots of sections and I don't have the privilege to do that. It's like looking at decorating-porn to see the stuff you do...I can't get enough :)

  5. Ha! I know what you mean. I have a permanently spray painted spot on my (dirt) driveway from all the spray painting I do. Love your decorations!
